Description	:	The body of Eugene O'Connor, 42, assistant state's attorney to Thomas J. Courtney, Chicago, who died Tuesday evening in Mercy hospital in the Windy City, was to arrive in Lima Thursday afternoon. Born in Lima and a graduate of St. Rose Catholic school, O'Connor was taken to the Chicago hospital Dec. 8 after taking a series of baths and treatments at Hot Springs, Ark. Born in Lima and a graduate of St. Rose Catholic school, O'Connor was taken to the Chicago hospital Dec. 8 after taking a series of baths and treatments at Hot Springs, Ark. The widely known Chicago solon went to that city 18 years ago. He had supervised the prosecutor's staff of 22 lawyers in the Illinois city for the last 10 years. He was chief investigator for the "blue sky" division, which inquires into securities frauds, of the state's attorney's office for more than a decade. Before joining the prosecutor's staff, he was an insurance investigator. O'Connor, who was unmarried, was a son of John and Bridget O'Connor. He is survived by four brothers and four sisters. They are Atty. Harry O'Connor; Charles B., of Chicago; Peter E. and James S. O'Connor, both of Houston, Tex.; Mrs. Alex Archambault and Mrs. Zita Gallagher, both of Lima; Anna, of Cleveland, and Mrs. Beatrice Taylor, of Tulsa, Okla. Funeral rites were held at the chapel to St. Peter's church in Chicago. The body will be taken direct to Gethsemane cemetery upon arrival here Thursday. O'Connel and Doolin funeral home is in charge. A nephew, the Rev. John S. O'Connor, S.J., will conduct services at the grave. (published in The Lima News, Thursday, March 5, 1942)
