A Scripture Service was held at 8 PM Wednesday at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home. A memorial fund has been established. Eula Mae Gilbreaith Van Tomme, daughter of David Gilbreaith and Bessie Grier Gilbreaith, was born May 23, 1912, near Barnes City, Iowa. Eula received her education in a rural school. On August 17, 1932 she was married to Camiel Van Tomme. They were the parents of three sons, Frank, Dean and Dale. They farmed south of Brooklyn. Mr. Van Tomme died August 10, 1966 and shortly after Eula moved into Brooklyn. She worked as a nurses' aide at Brookhaven Nursing Home until her retirement. Mrs. Van Tomme was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and St. Patrick's Altar and Rosary Society. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; one son, Frank; three brothers and three sisters. Surviving are two sons and their wives, Dean and Evelyn Van Tomme of Brooklyn and Dale and Carol Van Tomme of Guernsey; one sister, Ruth L. James of Cedar Rapids; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
