Parker.∼Eulalie was the eldest daughter of Archibald Pennell and Lucinda Sophia (King) Freeman and was born on the family farm located near the town of Volga City, Sperry Township, Clayton County, Iowa on 12 February 1859 (one source mentions 1857). She had seven brothers and sistes: John (died young), Dewitt (died young), Daniel Rufus, Anna Diana, William Fernando, Francis Ferry and Jessie Floy. She spent her youth and attended school at Volga until she married Edgar L. Parker in March (or April) of 1879. The young couple then moved to Osborne County, Kansas where they lived for most of their lives. The U S Census of 1900 reports that Edgar was farming in Jackson Township, Osborne County, Kansas, had been married for twenty-one years, was born on November of 1848 in Wisconsin, and his parents were both born in Ohio. Living at home was Eulalie A. (41), Olive M. (17), J. Earl (14), Ruth A. (11), Abbie (10), Edna (8), Marian E. (5), Blanch F. (2) and Allie E. (11/12). Note: "Allie" may have been a nickname; her actual name was Calla Eulala. Their two eldest daughters had married by this time. Their eldest daughter Jessie Mable, who was born in January of 1880, had married John V. Harger in Osborne County and was living with Jessie's parents according to the 1900 census. By 1910 Eulalie and John were still living in Jackson Township. John was fifty-seven and had been married thirty-one years. Eulalie was also thirty-one and it is noted that she was the mother of eleven children, ten of which were still alive. Living at home were Abbie (20, single), Marian E. (15), Blanche F. (12), Calla L. (10) and Eunice (7). Living nearly on a farm her husband John had established was their eldest daughter Jessie. Three children had been added to the family: Orvill Leroy, Alma and Irma Ruth. Eulalie's other daughter, Christie Lucinda, had married James Clinton Trefethen prior to 1900, also in Osborne County. They had three children: Bertha Eulalie, (born April 1901), Floy Elmena (born June of 1903) and Jeraldine. Eulalie passed away in 29 November of 1918 at Luray, Russell County, Kansas. Her actual interment has not been verified, but it is assumed she was buried at Luray Cemetery, Russell County, Kansas. Edgar moved west and lived his final years in Washington state where he died either in 1944 or 1946 in Marysville, Snohomish County, Washington.
