Read More	Pauley Jones Funeral Home - 1304 Ninth Street - Harlan, IA 51537 Eunice Josephine Heithoff Goetzinger August 22, 1930 - August 12, 2017 Eunice Josephine Heithoff Goetzinger, daughter of Albert and Eleanor (Kroeger) Heithoff, was born August 22, 1930 in Elgin, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elgin, Nebraska. She attended St. Boniface School graduating with the class of 1948. After high school, Eunice went on to earn her LPN in Omaha, Nebraska. On August 20, 1960, Eunice was united in marriage to Charles Michael Goetzinger at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elgin. After marriage, the couple made their home in Defiance, Iowa where they remained for over forty six years. One daughter, Julie was born to this union. Eunice went to work for Bank Iowa in Manilla, Iowa as a bank teller for seventeen years. She also worked as an Activities Coordinator at Manilla Manor. Eunice retired in the late 1990's. In 2010 she made her home in Harlan, Iowa before moving to Nevada, Iowa in 2012. Eunice enjoyed spending her time scrapbooking, visiting the nursing homes and talking to the elderly. She loved going to the casino. She especially loved time spent with her daughter, grandkids and great-grandkids, she attended every sporting event. Eunice died on Saturday, August 12, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at Story County Senior Care Facility in Nevada, Iowa, attaining the age of eighty-six years, eleven months and twenty-one days. In addition to her parents, she was proceed by her husband, Charles Goetzinger, and her siblings Lita Tunic and Donald Heithoff. She has left to cherish her memory, daughter Julie Tigges of Nevada, Iowa; grandsons Jamie McCullough, his wife Amy and their two children Maddox and Mason of Adel, Iowa; Jesse McCullough of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Justin Tigges of Council Bluffs; foster daughter Rhonda Richards of Moorhead, Iowa; honorary daughter Sandy Thomas of Nevada, Iowa; siblings Audrey Miller of Omaha, Nebraska; Yvonne Heithoff of Neligh, Nebraska; Louis Heithoff of Elgin, Nebraska; Lorene Stuhr of Elgin; nieces and nephews; other family members and many friends. KJAN RADIO, ATLANTIC, IOWA EUNICE JOSEPHINE GOETZINGER, 86, of Nevada (& formerly of Defiance), died Saturday, Aug. 12th, at Story County Senior Care. A Mass of Christian Burial for EUNICE GOETZINGER will be held 11-a.m. Wed., Aug. 16th, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, in Defiance. Pauley-Jones Funeral Home in Harlan has the arrangements. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tue., Aug. 15th, from 6-until 8-p.m., with a Rosary at 7:30-p.m. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery at Defiance. GOETZINGER Charles M. Goetzinger was born in Defiance September 25, 1929 to Joseph C. and Catherine Blum Goetzinger. Joseph was born in Templeton on March 18, 1884 and Catherine was born in Westphalia August 27, 1886. They came to Defiance in 1920. Charles has 13 brothers and sisters: Irene, Elizabeth, Clara, Lucille, LaVerne, Marcella, Edward Josephine, Virgil, Cleta, Rose, LeRoy and Helen. Charles attended St. Paul's School at Defiance. Charles married Eunice Heithoff of Elgin, Nebraska on August 20, 1960. Eunice was born August 22,1930 at Elgin to Albert and Eleanor Kroeger Heithoff. Albert was born in Roselle, Iowa February 11, 1888, and Eleanor in Templeton, January 1, 1900. Eunice has six brothers and sisters: a twin brother Louis, Donald, Amelita, Yvonne, Audrey, and Lorene. Charles works for Dubuque Pack in Denison and Eunice is Bookkeeper-Teller at Manilla State Bank. They have a daughter, Julie Ann, and a foster daughter, Rhonda Wolff. Charles was in the Army during the Korean Conflict, 1951~53, and is a member of the American Legion. They are members of St. Peter's Church. Eunice is a L.P.N.
