Read More	NICHOLS, EUNICE MARIE—Eunice Marie Cark Nichols was born to Rosalva Truman Clark and Minnie Ellen Keyte Clark on March 23, 1913, at Burress and passed away on June 14, 1988, at her home in Lakewood, Col., at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 22 days. She was one of 16 children in the family. Eunice was educated in the Geneva Public School system and graduated as valedictorian of her Class of 1930. She lived in Geneva until 1958 and then lived in Lakewood, Col., until her death. Her life was fully occupied with being a homemaker and “Mom” to her children. Eunice was married to Jess Nichols of Fairmont, on November 9, 1933, and to them five children were born. Eunice’s interests were handiwork and her garden. Quilts were handmade for all of her children and grandchildren, with crocheted baby blankets a favorite gift. While in Geneva, Eunice was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Women’s Society of Christian Service and a book review group. She was also active as a den mother in Cub Scouts. Family was most important to Eunice and she continued to keep track of nieces and nephews who were scattered throughout the United States. Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Stella, Jewell, Edna, Cora, Phyllis and Lucy; brother, Speck, Connie, Frank, Ted, Truman and Bob. She is survived by her children, Richard Cark Nichols and wife, Nancy of Geneva, Lila Miller and husband, George, of Manitou Springs, Col., Alice Correnti and husband, Ross of Arvada, Col., Edgar William Nichols of Colorado Springs, Col., Debra Wicke and husband, James of Arvada, Col., and Jess Nichols of Solona Beach, Cal.; her sister Byrle Steuteville of Helena, Mt.; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are over 100 loving nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted from the United Methodist Church in Geneva on Monday, June 20, with the Rev. Cal Leeds officiating. Mrs. Leonard Ackland accompanied the Ray Nichols family who sang “Amazing Grace” and “Thy Will Be Done.” Pallbearers were nephews, David Clark, Alan Sole, Rodney Sole, Jerome Fleck Stanley Miller and Robert Johnson. Honorary bearers were Chet Paul, Wifred Clark and Glen Johnson. Interment was in the Geneva Public Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal June 23rd, 1988, page 9.
