Hastings Schupbach on Feb. 5, 1914 on the Schupbach homestead near Chugwater, Wyo. She passed away at Heritage Crossings in Geneva on Feb. 10, 2004 at the age of 90 years and five days. Hastings Schupbach on Feb. 5, 1914 on the Schupbach homestead near Chugwater, Wyo. She passed away at Heritage Crossings in Geneva on Feb. 10, 2004 at the age of 90 years and five days. She was one of three children in the family. The family returned to their farm in Chelsea Township southeast of Geneva in 1916. Eunice attended country school at District No. 32 in Chelsea Township and graduated from Geneva High School in 1931. She worked for the Hested Store in Geneva until her marriage. Eunice and Howard Q. Voigtlander of Exeter were united in marriage on May 30, 1937. They made their home in Exeter and to this union two children were born. She worked at the First National Bank in Exeter for a number of years. Howard and Eunice moved to Geneva in September of 1976 and on Nov. 23, 1976 Howard passed away. Eunice was baptized and was a member of the Chelsea United Brethren Church and later joined the Congregational United Church of Christ in Exeter where she taught Sunday School, was a member of Builders and the Guild, and served as the church treasurer. In 1978, she transferred her membership to the Geneva United Church of Christ where she belonged to the Mariam Circle and the Extension Club. She also volunteered at the Youth Development Center. Eunice loved her home and took great pride in her yard and flowers. She made many beautiful quilts and loved to share them with her family. She was always ready for a game of cards. Her husband, Howard, son Bill, parents Erwin and Bertha Schupbach, brothers, Waldo and Clifford preceded Eunice in death. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Bruce Hosic of Grand Island; grandchildren Robert and Michael Voigtlander of Rockford, Ill., Wade Hosic of Lincoln and Allison Turner of Central City; seven great-grandchildren, Joshua, Emily, Zachary and Luke Voigtlander, Hanna and Blake Hosic and Bethany Turner; and by nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13 from the United Church of Christ in Geneva with Rev. Lynn Strandt officiating. Nancy Cradduck accompanied the congregational singing of "Church in the Wildwood." Karen Hosic accompanied Warren Hudnall who sang "Amazing Grace" and "Precious Memories." Interment was in the Geneva Public Cemetery with Farmer & Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to the Geneva or Exeter United Church of Christ.
