Description	:	Euphenia Fults was born at Owensburg, Indiana, December 23, 1856. She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Theodore Soester, in Crawford, May 21, 1941, at the age of eighty-five years, four months and twenty-eight days. September 22, 1875, she was united in marriage to Augustine Short at Bloomington, Indiana. In 1879 Mr. and Mrs. Short came West to Wilsonville, Nebraska, where they settled on a homestead.Ten children were born to them. She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Theodore Soester, in Crawford, May 21, 1941, at the age of eighty-five years, four months and twenty-eight days. September 22, 1875, she was united in marriage to Augustine Short at Bloomington, Indiana. In 1879 Mr. and Mrs. Short came West to Wilsonville, Nebraska, where they settled on a homestead.Ten children were born to them. Two children preceded the mother in death, and the husband and father passed away February 25, 1926. Much good could be said about Mrs. Short. While still a girl she entered the fellowship of the church. She was a consecrated Christian throughout her life. During her more active years she was a zealous and faithful worker in the interests of her church. Her words and her deed were a living testimony of her faith in God. She brought cheer and help and happiness to all those who lived within the sphere of her influence. Best of all, she was a faithful and devoted wife and mother, who provided a home for her loved ones. She leaves to mourn her passing, eight children: Daniel of Delta, Colorado; George of Columbus, Nebraska;Nolan of Madison, Nebraska; Lawrence of Oxford, Nebraska; Mrs. Millie Carter of Holbrook, Nebraska; Mrs. Myrtle Shorey of Oberlin, Kansas; Mrs. Thalia Soester of Crawford, Nebraska; thirty-two grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and many friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Houston Funeral home, Friday afternoon, May 23, at two o'clock. Rev. B. T. Meckel of the Congregational church officiated. Interment was made at the Crawford cemetery. Obituary appeared in "The Northwest Nebraska News" Thursday, May 29, 1941
