Description	:	Eva was the third child born to Roy L. and Edna L. (Colson) Heaston. She grew up on a farm and attended Yapp Country School near Ionia until the family moved to another farm northwest of Lebanon, KS. In 1933 she attended Grandview School then after 8th grade she attended Lebanon High School where she graduated with the class of 1941. She grew up on a farm and attended Yapp Country School near Ionia until the family moved to another farm northwest of Lebanon, KS. In 1933 she attended Grandview School then after 8th grade she attended Lebanon High School where she graduated with the class of 1941. That summer she worked for several families caring for new mothers and their babies as well as cooking for the harvest hands. On August 25, 1941 she married her high school sweetheart Lynn A. Thompson. They went to Iowa in the fall to shuck corn. They returned home after their job was thru at Thanksgiving time and later moved on a farm a mile east of Lynn's parents. They farmed from spring of 1942 to fall 1950. Eva and Lynn then moved in town to Lebanon where their children attended school. Lynn went to work for Co-op and Eva did his book work. Five children were born on the farm and one after moving. They are Lynda Janice, Patricia Ann, Gary Wayne, Janet Lorene and Mary Elizabeth. In 1961 Terry Kevin was born. From the McElfresh's they bought the variety store and it was called Lynn's Variety. Eva operated it for 20 years while her husband continued working for Midway Co-op until failing health; he retired in 1987. Eva soon sold the store to the LaDow's so she could be home with Lynn. After Lynn's second heart attack in early March 2005, Eva was his caretaker until July 27, 2005. She continued to volunteer to distribute government commodities 8 ½ years after Lynn was gone. Together they had volunteered over 20 plus years. Eva enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, volunteering, Royals baseball games, dancing, making jelly, church showers for weddings and babies. She was a member of the Lebanon Christian Church where she held several offices and served as a Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher, deaconess, director of VBS, participated in CWF and helped with CYF groups. Eva loved her church and her church family. In addition to her church activities, she was also a member of the Hub Club, BPW club, 60 plus club, music club until 2013-2014 and Jenny Lind until they disbanded after 75 years. She helped with the care of both sets of parents and her veteran brother. Eva was always ready to lend a helping hand if her children needed her. She loved her family dearly. Eva decided to make a move to Smith Estates in the fall of 2013 in order to downsize and get away from all the steps she had in her home. She then moved into Independent Living June of 2017. Preceded in death by her parents Roy and Edna Heaston, husband Lynn, brothers Dice, Roy Linn and Ivan. Survivors include her sons Gary (Marcia) and Terry (Stephany) both of Lincoln; daughters, Lynda (Roger) Terry of Beloit, KS, Patricia (Jerry) May of Wichita, KS, Janet (Michael) McConnell of Juniata, NE, Mary (Larry) Stanley of Lebanon, KS; sisters in law Janice Heaston of Peoria, AZ, Patti Heaston of Oregon, Beverly Lynd of Huron, SD; 19 Grandchildren; 41 Great Grandchildren; 7 Great Great Grandchildren; extended family Diane Colson and Charles Grey; many nieces, nephews and friends.
