Description	:	Another of Colorado's pioneers was called by death Monday, June 3. Mrs. Eva Elizabeth Duvic, passed away in the Monte Vista hospital following an illness of only three days. Mrs. Duvic was born in Hutchinson, Colorado, it is now Conifer in Jefferson County, two years before Colorado became a state, October 12, 1874. She was the daughter of George C. Read More	Another of Colorado's pioneers was called by death Monday, June 3. Mrs. Eva Elizabeth Duvic, passed away in the Monte Vista hospital following an illness of only three days. Mrs. Duvic was born in Hutchinson, Colorado, it is now Conifer in Jefferson County, two years before Colorado became a state, October 12, 1874. She was the daughter of George C. [George O.] and Margaret Ellis Kennedy and had been in the Monte Vista area since 1895. In November 1902 she was married to the late L. H. (Fate) Duvic and four of their children survive them. They are Mrs. Evelyn Taylor, Grand Juction, Mrs. Ruth Nelson, Fremont, California, Mrs. Elsie Kunz, Littleton, Colorado, and Paul L. Duvic, Seattle, Washington. Ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Duvic was active in the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints, the Rebekah Lodge, the Noble Grands and the San Luis Valley Auxiliary of the Territorial Daughters of Colorado. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 6, from Woods Memorial Chapel at one o'clock with Rev. Elder A. W. Sheehy from Denver officiating. Burial will be in the Monte Vista cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of W. Edward Sharp. Final Rites For Eva Duvic Final rites for Mrs. Eva Elizabeth Duvic were conducted from Woods Memorial Chapel Thursday afternoon, June 6, by Rev. Elder A.W. Sheehy of Denver. Robert Showalter was organist for the service and accompanied soloist Lynn Weldon at the songs "Oh Master Let Me Walk With Thee" and "The Lord's Prayer" were sung. Mrs. Duvic, 88, was born Oct. 12, 1874, at Hutchinson, Colo., and passed away June 3, 1963, in the Monte Vista hospital following a brief illness. Her husband, L.F. (Fate) Duvic, preceded her in death in April, 1957. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Taylor of Grand Junction, Mrs. Ruth Nelson, Fremont, Calif., and Mrs. Elsie Kunz, Littleton, Colo.; and one son, Paul L. Duvic, Seattle, Wash.; also ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Other survivors are two brothers, George Kennedy, Warren, Ohio, and Earl Kennedy, Taft, Calif.; and one sister, Mrs. George Chase, Arroyo Secco, N.M. Mrs. Duvic was active in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Rebekah Lodge, Past Noble Grands and the San Luis Valley Auxiliary of the Territorial Daughters of Colorado. Pallbearers were Eben Millis, Ray Johnson, Roy Shay, F.S. McDaniel, Max Davis and Woodrow Wadleigh. Burial was in the Monte Vista Cemetery. Funeral arrangements ere in charge of W. Edward Sharp.
