Description	:	Highland Recorder August 24, 1957 Mrs. Eva Eckard Varner, 64, died Aug. 9 at her home north of Monterey after a lingering illness. She is survived by her husband, Luther Varner; three daughters Mrs. Lawrence Beverage and Mrs. Dale Gum of Monterey and Mrs. Glen Altizer of Staunton; seven sons, Russell, Don and Charles Varner of Monterey. Jacob, Fay, Robert and Delmer Varner all of Staunton; twenty-nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Four children preceded her in death.
