SEVERNS KINDIG, 97, Rochester, passed away at 8:25 p.m. Monday at Hickory Creek, Rochester. Born in Rochester to Frank M. and Sadie RUSSELL SEVERNS, she married Oral B. "Hap" KINDIG on Feb. 28, 1926, at First Christian Church, Rochester. She was a talented homemaker and was known for her delicious homemade noodles, apple dumplings and her crocheting. Paramount in her life was the work she did for her church. Her greatest passion was the love and joy-filled moments she shared with her family. Survivors include two daughters, Helen KINDIG NOTZ and Donna Jean KINDIG SMITH, both of Rochester; one son, Omer "Skip" KINDIG and wife Annette, Warsaw; seven grandchildren, Terry NOTZ PFEIFFER and husband Wally, Patricia NOTZ ZEHR and husband Ben, Rick NOTZ and wife Karen, Joe NOTZ and wife Angie, Jean KINDIG MIZE and husband Bobbi, Tammy SMITH LEHMAN and Karen KINDIG BECK; 12 great-grandchildren, Jodi PFEIFFER MCCALl, Alison PFEIFFER, Kelly ZEHR, Kimberly ZEHR, Greta NOTZ, Rich NOTZ, Landon NOTZ, A.J. NOTZ, Michael MIZE, John LEHMAN, Heather LEHMAN and Zach BECK; one great-great-grandson, Grady McCALL; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding in death was her husband, Oral; two sons-in-law, Richard NOTZ and Frances SMITH; two brothers, Marion "Bill" SEVERNS and Orville SEVERNS; one sister, Hertha GRAEBER; and one great-great-grandson, Austin McCALL. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, with Rev. Woody SLADE officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery, Rochester. Friends and relatives may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Rochester, in lieu of flowers.
