Description	:	Published in The Rochester Sentinel Friday, September 5, 1975 Oral "Hap" Kindig Oral "Hap" KINDIG, 78, Fulton county round barn builder, died at 10:40 p.m. Thursday at the Canterbury Manor nursing home where he had been a patient three weeks. Mr. Kindig resided on R.R. 5, Rochester, and was a lifetime resident of Fulton county. He was the last survivor of the C. V. Kindig and Sons company who were contractors for the round barns built in Fulton county. He was builder of 11 of the 15 round barns that were still standing in this area in 1971. Read More	Published in The Rochester Sentinel Friday, September 5, 1975 Oral "Hap" Kindig Oral "Hap" KINDIG, 78, Fulton county round barn builder, died at 10:40 p.m. Thursday at the Canterbury Manor nursing home where he had been a patient three weeks. Mr. Kindig resided on R.R. 5, Rochester, and was a lifetime resident of Fulton county. He was the last survivor of the C. V. Kindig and Sons company who were contractors for the round barns built in Fulton county. He was builder of 11 of the 15 round barns that were still standing in this area in 1971. He had served as grand marshal of three Round Barn Festival parades. He had worked many years as a carpenter, building round barns and homes in this area. Mr. Kindig was born March 21, 1897, in Fulton, to Charles and Hattie BRYANT KINDIG. His marriage was Feb. 28, 1926, in Rochester to Eva M. SEVERNS. She survives. He was a retired farmer and carpenter. He was a member of the First Christian church. Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Helen) NOTZ, Rochester, and Mrs. Francis (Donna) SMITH, Leiters Ford; one son, Omer [KINDIG], of Warsaw; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Cecil (Doris) JONES, of Mishawaka, and Mrs. Clarence (Lavonna) MIKESELL, of Rochester; one brother, Cleon V. KINDIG, San Jose, Cal. One sister and three brothers preceded in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Foster & Good funeral home. The Rev. Josef PALAT will officiate.
