Hansen, and Betty Jane Hansen. Eva married a Mr. ___ Nell, had one son, Raymond Lee Nell, born 2 Dec 1938. In the 1940 U.S. Census, Eva Nell (married) and her son Raymond Nell are living with her parents in Franklin Township, Polk County, Iowa. (Raymond married Judy Blohm, daughter of Louis and Genevive Blohm of Adair, IA. Raymond and Judy had 3 children: Donna Steven, LeAnn. Raymond and Judy divorced. Raymond died 5 Jan 1978 of a heart attack). In the fall of 1947, Eva Hansen Nell answered an ad for a housekeeper for Louie Jasper Hansen, a farmer in Greeley Township, Audubon County, Iowa. Eva and her son Raymond went to live on the farm. In the spring of 1948, Louie and Eva were married. To this union, three daughters were born: Lois Mary, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Carroll, IA; Carol Ann Hansen, on the Hansen home place in Audubon County, IA; and Barbara Jean, born after Louie and Eva separated in 1951. Eva and the children moved to Des Moines, Iowa. While on the farm, Louie had bought several lugs of peaches and had Eva can them with honey. She also processed the honey. In an old maple tree close to the west house, there were a lot of bees. During the winter when there wasn't much activity in the hive, Louie would cut off the top of the maple tree and reach in the trunk to harvest the honey combs. He brought it into the house where the honey was cooked out of the combs and poured into jars.--a memory of niece Marilyn Hansen Grabill. Eva had another daughter, Kathy (Muncy). Eva married Iris S. Rash, Corporal, U.S. Army in World War II (1909-1989).
