Gantz Dies At Washington Eva Lewis Fairchild, sister of Mrs. Harry Gantz, Fairfield, and former resident of Packwood, passed away at 9:15 p.m. yesterday in the Washington, Iowa hospital where she had been a patient since last Sunday. She was 76 years old at the time of her death. After spending the early part of her life in Jefferson county, she moved to Florida where she resided for 24 years. She moved to Washington a year ago. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoskins Funeral Home here with Rev. S. P. Williamson in charge. She was born Eva Morris, Septmber 8, 1869, at Brookville in Jefferson county, the daughter of the late Robert and Rebecca Morrow Morris. Her first husband (sic. George Franklin "Frank" Lewis) passed away in 1907. B. E. Fairchild, her second husband, preceded her in death September 28, 1943. Mrs. Fairchild is survived by one son, Victor R. Lewis, Peoria, Ill.; also step-sons George Fairchild, Agency, Bert Fairchild, Packwood, and Peter Fairchild, California; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Laura Hoskins, Brighton, Mrs. H. P. Graham, Moline, Mrs. Clyde Brown, Olds, and Mrs. Pearl Letchner, Pleasant Plain. Two sisters Mrs. Carrie Bell, New Orleans, and Mrs. Harry Gantz, Fairfield, also survive.
