Charles Kanne, of Creighton University, Omaha, will offer requiem mass. Burial will be in the Carroll Catholic cemetery. The body is resting at the Sharp Funeral Home, where the rosary will be prayed at 8 o'clock Wednesday night. Mrs. Kanne was born Eva Stang June 11, 1873, at Frankfort, Germany. At an early age, she came to the United States with her mother and three sisters. The family settled in Milwaukee, Wis., moving from there to Ida Grove, Ia. Her marriage to Karl Kanne took place in October, 1889, at Sacred Heart Church, Ida Grove. Mr. and Mrs. Kanne established their home in Carroll, where Mr. Kanne had a meat market in the building now occupied by the Carroll Candy Kitchen, 129 West Fifth Street. He died July 14, 1895. Mrs. Kanne leaves two sons; Fr. Charles Kanne, who is on the faculty of Creighton University, and John, Terril, Ia. Her oldest son, Joseph, was killed in a tractor accident in January, 1931. Mrs. Kanne's sisters also preceded her in death: Mrs. Mary Henni, mother of Mrs. Josephine Conway of Carroll, died in November, 1894, and Sr. M. Elizabeth, (Theresa Stang) who was on the staff of St. Joseph Hospital, Omaha, died in October, 1910. Mrs. Kanne was a member of SS. Peter and Paul's parish here.
