Description	:	No marker on her plot. Her daughter Emma Robinson was cremated, and was interred with her. Evalina moved out to Delaware Co. Ohio after the Civil War to stay with her Uncle William H Elsom and Aunt Martha Rittehouse Elsom. Uncle and Aunt had already stablished themselves since before 1850 and were raising children. Her daughter Emma Robinson was cremated, and was interred with her. Evalina moved out to Delaware Co. Ohio after the Civil War to stay with her Uncle William H Elsom and Aunt Martha Rittehouse Elsom. Uncle and Aunt had already stablished themselves since before 1850 and were raising children. Her mother Amanda Elsom had passed away in 1861 back home in Virginia, and father was still raising the rest of his children also in Virginia. While in Delaware Co, she meet James William Mckitrick only after he lost his wife, Lucy. James and Lucy were raising up three children and Evalina took on being their next step mother. They married on Dec. 29,1867 in Delaware Co. As records shows. They later had a boy John William, they called Willie. Then things became bad enough, James had become ill and passed away on March 30, 1870. She now had a family that had no father and the burden was probably overwhelming. And if she knew she was pregnant, it was all the reason to leave and go back home to Virginia. The Mckitrick side of the family stepped in and took the children that were Lucy's. Evalina took off for home in Virginia by May of 1870 just in time to show her and her son Willy in the 1870 census. At that time, the father moved to Batesville, Virginia. Here Evalina gives birth to her new baby girl, Amanda B. Mckitrick in Nov. of 1870, but some time in 1871 she travels back to her uncle in Ohio and here meets up with Charles Burner who left his family of three children and a wife. They both marry in Union Co. Ohio as records show. They settle in and Evalina gives birth to two daughters, Emma Frances and Rosa Belle are both born in Leesberg, Union Co. Ohio. Evalina' son Willie is now living with his fathers brother, Uncle Jasper Mckitrick. Willie is seen as an nephew in the 1880 census with this family. After this year, we lose track of Willie and it is 1880 that Evalina and family again moves on to Lane, Kansas. They set up a Hotel business at their home. It becomes known as the Burner Hotel. And It is here that Evalina gives birth again in 1883 to Clarence Waverly Burner. Later, in and around 1891 or 92, her daughter Amanda meets up with Charles Culbertson. They marry and had one son William M Culbertson. Then in 1897 Amanda passes away in Lane and is layed to rest in Paola's Cemetery. Then in 1906, Charles passes on. Later in 1910 Eva moves with Emma to Kansas City Missouri. Then in 1912 Evalina and her daughter Emma and husband Joseph move out to Santa Cruz, California. Then more bad events, daughter Emma's husband passes ( Joseph F Shortridge ). Back in Kansas, her son Clarence W had moved away to Boulder Colorado and her daughter Rosa had started a family in Lane. Emma and her mother decided to move on to Oakland, Ca. from Santa Cruz in 1914. Emma was known as a Nurse and was working around in Drug stores as a clerk and a private live in nurse as well. Some time before 1920 as the U.S. Census report, Evalina is now living in a facility known as The Kings Daughter's For The Incurables. ( Look this name on the Internet, this building was designed by Julia Morgan, Architect for William Randolph Hearst ) She stays here until the time of her passing, March 26, 1922 of Chronic Endocarditis. And for some reason at this time and have no que. Her daughter places her mother at Oakwood Memorial Park, Santa Cruz. And later when Emma passes in 1941, she is place here as well. Burner Hotel to the right and a drawing of the Hotel by Bus Cornelius, women in the photo is Bus's mother not Evalina Burner Her great great grand daughter Ruthanne Howald played a visit in May 2015.
