Description	:	Evalyne Mae Davenport, 89 of Stanwood, Washington, died September 8, 2007, in Everett, Washington. She was born June 4, 1918 to Rex and Ethel Mae Houser in Bow, Washington. Evelyne graduated from Edison High School in 1936. In 1959 she graduated from Skagit Beauty College and became a beautician. Evalyne has lived in the Cedarhome area since 1947 coming from Mt. Vernon, Washington, she was a member of the Methodist Church. She served many years as the chairwoman for the Blue building at the Stanwood, Camano Fair. She was very active in the Democratic party. She gave many hours of service... Read More	Evalyne Mae Davenport, 89 of Stanwood, Washington, died September 8, 2007, in Everett, Washington. She was born June 4, 1918 to Rex and Ethel Mae Houser in Bow, Washington. Evelyne graduated from Edison High School in 1936. In 1959 she graduated from Skagit Beauty College and became a beautician. Evalyne has lived in the Cedarhome area since 1947 coming from Mt. Vernon, Washington, she was a member of the Methodist Church. She served many years as the chairwoman for the Blue building at the Stanwood, Camano Fair. She was very active in the Democratic party. She gave many hours of service as a 4-H leader and hosted foreign exchange students, she and her husband William gave a home to more than 40 different children through out their years together. Evalyne helped build and travelled with the Stanwood/Camano float for many years. For many years she had her own beauty salon and worked many hours on the family dairy farm. She leaves two daughters, and sons-in-law, Saundra and Phillip Hall, of Bonney Lake, Washington and Sharron and John Raider, of Arlington, Washington; two brothers, Ray Houser, of Sedro Woolley, Washington and Rex Houser, of Burlington, Washington; three sisters, Olive Routon, of Burlington, Washington, Hazel Blankenship, of Missouri, and Bettye Lou Houser, of Winthrop, Washington; four grandchildren, Tracy Bretz, of Stanwood, Patrick Hall, of Bonney Lake, Shannon Raider, of White Horse, Washington, and William Raider of Arlington; as well as seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Gay, Jim, Jack and Les. A private burial will be held at Burlington Cemetery in Burlington, Washington with a Memorial service 11 a.m., Saturday, September 15, 2007, at the Cedarhome Baptist Church; with Pastor Mich Klein officiating. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Gilbertson Funeral Home, Stanwood, Washington. Published in The Herald (Everett) on 9/12/2007.
