Description	:	FUNERAL RITES FOR EVANGELINE LANG, FRIDAY Funeral services for Mrs. Evangeline Lang, were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday morning at the Untied Methodist Church with Rev. John Crosswhite officiating. Arrangements were by nelson Boylan Funeral Chapel of Red Oak. Mrs. Richard Steen, organist, played two selections, “In The Garden” and “The Old Rugged Cross.” The floral committee was Mrs. Bonnie Dickerson, and Mrs. Arlene Samuelson. Ushers were LeRoy Johnson and George Bass. Pall bearers were Greg Lang, Jay Clarke, Russell Smith, Richard Steen, Laverne Dickerson, and Edward Greenwood. Lang, daughter of William and Nora Crawford, was born December 27, 1900 at Emerson and passed from this life on Tuesday, January 5, 1982, at the Good Samaritan Center in Red Oak, Iowa. She had just recently reached the age of 81 years and 8 days. May 5, 1920, she was united in marriage to Marion Lang. They were lifetime residents of the Emerson area. She was involved in various community activities. She was a Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star; was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, of the United Methodist Women and of the Emerson United Methodist Church. She served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years and worked in the Primary Department for 30 years. She loved children and enjoyed working with them. She and her husband entered the Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Red Oak in early 1980 where she was very active, taking part in the singing and the various activities at the center. She is survived by her son, Eugene of Treynor, her daughter, Mrs. John Clarke (Annabelle) of Redding, California, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
