Interment was in the Edholm cemetery. Mrs. Dodge was an early settler of Butler County and for a number of years lived near Edholm. Mrs. Dodge’s maiden name was Baldwin. She was born in Cayuga County, New York, December 27, 1848. She was married to Edgar A. Dodge in Dodge County, Nebraska, December 26, 1867. To them eight children were born, three of whom died in early childhood. Two sons and three daughters are living. They are Wesley M. Dodge of Springview, Neb; Frederick E. Dodge of Lyons, Colo; Mrs. Florence Chase of Fremont, Neb; Mrs. Caddie Conrad of Bassett, Neb; and Miss Edna A. Dodge, who is teaching in the public schools of Omaha. All the children were present at the funeral except Wesley Dodge, who was unable to come. Mrs. Dodge in early life became a member of the Congregational church of Linwood. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Methodist church of Bassett, Neb. ********************************************************* “Rock County Leader”; Bassett, Nebraska – Thursday, January 28, 1915, Page 1, Column 4: Mrs. Evaline Dodge died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. D. Conrad, Monday evening at 11 o’clock. Death came after a months illness caused by heart trouble. Mrs. Dodge had been making her home with her daughter here for some time and made numerous friends who will sympathize with the family in their bereavement. The body was taken to Linwood, Nebr. For interment beside the body of her husband and three children, who preceded her in death. Evaline Baldwin Dodge was born in New York State December 27, 1848, and has made her home in Nebraska for over fifty years. At the age of eighteen, she was married to Edgar A. Dodge. She is survived by five children, two sons Wesley of Springview, Neb. Fred of Lyons, Colo. And three daughters, Mrs. Florence Chase of Fremont, Neb., Mrs. Caddie Conrad of Bassett, and Edna A. Dodge of Omaha, Neb. *******************************************************
