Description	:	"A PIONEER GONE. Lydia Baldwin, maiden name, Lydia Wheeler, born in Yates county, New York, Jan. 16, 1809. In youth she united in marriage with Delorval Baldwin. While in the prime of life she sought and found Jesus Christ as a personal Savior. Her husband dying in 1852, she was left to care for her seveen (sic) children, moving to Nebraska in 1862 she experienced the hardships of pioneer life. She had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Linwood for many years and attended services whenever her great... Read More	"A PIONEER GONE. Lydia Baldwin, maiden name, Lydia Wheeler, born in Yates county, New York, Jan. 16, 1809. In youth she united in marriage with Delorval Baldwin. While in the prime of life she sought and found Jesus Christ as a personal Savior. Her husband dying in 1852, she was left to care for her seveen (sic) children, moving to Nebraska in 1862 she experienced the hardships of pioneer life. She had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Linwood for many years and attended services whenever her great weight of years would permit. Only three of her daughters survive her. She was well known in this locality as Grandma Baldwin. She feared not death and often expresped (sic) herself willing and anxious to receive the summons. While more than four score and ten years had been her pilgrimage, yet she ever kept in view her blessed Savior. She parted with this life in Linwood, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dockstader, Saturday morning, Apr. 8, 1899. Age 90 years, 2 months and 22 days. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. D. W. Wilt of Linwood the following Sunday. Text St. John 6:40. The remains were interred in the Edholm cemetery.
