She had been in declining health for sometime, but her fatal sickness lasted less than a week. The funeral was held at the Christian church, Tuesday afternoon, Rev. E. Miller officiating. Burial was made in the cemetery east of town. Eveline McCloud was born in Plattville, Illinois, March 30, 1843, where she grew to womanhood. March 7, 1864 she was united in marriage to Jacob Myers, and together they established a little home in Livingston county, of that state. To this union were born six children -- Hartwell A.; William C.; Gertie Ann; Maude Estelle; Freddy Rhubert; and Jacob Roy; all of whom are living except Gertie (Mrs. C. Thrasher), who preceded her, living little Roy, grandson, who has been tenderly cared for by his devoted grandmother since babyhood. Twenty years ago they moved to Francesville, since which time Mr. Myers and sons have successfully conducted extensive business interests here, and it is a remarkable fact that home ties have held the families close together and all have been near father and mother to minister in their declining years. Mrs. Myers united with the Church of Christ in Francesville during the ministry of Elder Moot, about eighteen years ago, and her life throughout has been an ever present example of Christian love and fortitude to her family and all who knew her. She leaves many loved ones who will sadly miss her -- husband, four sons, one daughter, three sisters, two brothers and seventeen grandchildren, who almost idolized her. "She sleeps! And never more will her footsteps fall by the old home door, Nor her voice be heard with its loving tone By the lone ones left round her own hearth stone. She has gone, she has gone to her home afar, to the beautiful land where the angels are." Obituary published in The Francesville Tribune (Francesville, IN), on Thursday, April 17, 1913, pg. 2.
