Services were held Monday April 13, 2009, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Holstein with the Rev. Harold King officiatiating. *** Evelyn was born August 9, 1914, to Ernest Frederick and Caroline Sophis(Bohlke)Huckfeldt in Holstein. She graduated from Holstein High School in 1931. She married Perle Peter Koch January 14, 1935, in Grand Island. He died December 2, 1988. They had three sons, Donald, David and Franklin. Harold King officiatiating. *** Evelyn was born August 9, 1914, to Ernest Frederick and Caroline Sophis(Bohlke)Huckfeldt in Holstein. She graduated from Holstein High School in 1931. She married Perle Peter Koch January 14, 1935, in Grand Island. He died December 2, 1988. They had three sons, Donald, David and Franklin. They owned and operated Koch Grocery Store in Holstein from May 1955, and sold it October 31, 1973. Evelyn taught piano lessons for 25 years, played organ at church for 71 years, taught Sunday School for years, delivered Meals On Wheels in Holstein, and played piano at Haven Home in Kenesaw for years. Her life was music. She was treasurer for Coffee Club in Holstein until October 2000, when she had to go to Campbell Nursing Home until 2003. She then went to the Kensington in Hastings until 2006, and then had to go to Blue Hill Care Center because she needed more care. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church; Society; Coffee Club; Auxiliary Legion, serving as treasurer; and Senior Center all of Holstein. She is survived by two sons, Perle David Koch of Vancouver, WA, and Franklin Ross (Denise) Koch of Hastings; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Donald Eugene Koch; grandchild, Regina Hendrickson; grandson, Michael Hendrickson; husband, Perle; two brothers, Everett Huckfeldt and Eugene Huckfeldt.
