Description	:	Evelyn Florence Almina Cofer, daughter of Harry and Eva Cofer, was born August 3, 1910 at Tacoma, Wash., and departed this life at her home near Ransom on June 2, 1958 at the age of 47 years, 9 months and 30 days. On February 19, 1911 she moved with her parents to Great Bend, and later to Ransom. She was christened in the Methodist Church in Tacoma, Wash., and transferred her membership to the Ransom Mennonite Church on November 27, 1927. Read More	Evelyn Florence Almina Cofer, daughter of Harry and Eva Cofer, was born August 3, 1910 at Tacoma, Wash., and departed this life at her home near Ransom on June 2, 1958 at the age of 47 years, 9 months and 30 days. On February 19, 1911 she moved with her parents to Great Bend, and later to Ransom. She was christened in the Methodist Church in Tacoma, Wash., and transferred her membership to the Ransom Mennonite Church on November 27, 1927. She joined the Ransom Rebekah Lodge on January 17, 1938. She was united in marriage to Ulrich Yost on May 21, 1940 at Hays. They made their home on a farm south of Ransom. Three children were born to this union: Barbara Ann, Larry Arlen and Glen Ulrich. Evelyn was a telephone operator for about 20 years, working at Ransom, WaKeeney and Hill City. She received her education from the Ransom grade schools, graduating from high school with the Class of 1930. She also took nurses training at St. Rose Hospital in Great Bend and Asbury Hospital in Salina. Evelyn was of a cheerful disposition and had a smile for everyone. She was always willing to help in church or community affairs even though her poor health did not permit her to attend very regularly. Besides her husband and children, she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry C. Cofer of Lawrence; Two brothers, Dr. Herman D. Cofer of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; and Harvey of Lawrence; one sister, Mrs. Harriet Pfaff of Hanston; seven nieces, seven nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Ness Co. News, June 5, 1958
