She was 85 years of age. She lived with her family on a farm near Essex. Evelyn attended country school in Page County and graduated from the Essex High School with the Class of 1931. She graduated from the Swedish Covenant Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois in 1935. On October 20, 1938 she was united in marriage to Robert Norstrum at the family farm home near Essex. Following World War 11 the couple resided in Chicago. Evelyn worked as a nurse for 40 years in various Chicago hospitals. In 1975 she retired and moved back to Essex to be near her family. She had been a resident of Elm Lights Part-Crest in Shenandoah for several months. Evelyn was a member of the North Park Covenant Church in Chicago and attended the Faith Covenant Church in Essex. She enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bob, in May 1970, sister, Nora Almquist, Florence Johnson, and Alice Moore, and a brother, George Peterson. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ray (Ruth) Sederburg, Stanton, Iowa, a brother, Raymond Peterson of Tracy, Minnesota, a sister, Mrs. Lawrence (Irene) Johnson, Shenandoah, and a brother Harold Peterson, Green Valley, Arizona. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
