Born September 20, 1918 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Laban H. and Clara E. (Risser) Martin. Her husband Noah V. Martin died April 4, 1978. Showalter and wife Velina of Greencastle, PA; one brother, Arthur R. Martin of Chambersburg, PA; 23 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter Elva Showalter in 1988, one grandson Omar Burkholder in 2010, three sisters Leona (Mrs. Lloyd) Eby, Gladys (Mrs. Harry) Myers, Martha (Mrs. Noah) Horst, and her step-mother Edna (Diller) Weber Martin. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 10 at 10:00 AM from the Reiff Mennonite Church near Cearfoss, MD. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 - 8 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle, PA and at the church one hour before the service on Thursday. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Published in The Frederick News-Post on July 8, 2014
