Born April 30, 1941, in Manning, she was the daughter of the late Scott Harvin Rigby and the late Evelyn Fuller Rigby. She was a graduate of Manning High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina. Read More	Evelyn "Lyn" Rigby Mabry, 79, devoted wife of Wayne Harvey Mabry, died Sunday, February 14, 2021, at her home. Born April 30, 1941, in Manning, she was the daughter of the late Scott Harvin Rigby and the late Evelyn Fuller Rigby. She was a graduate of Manning High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and remained a loyal Gamecock until the end. She began her teaching career at Olympia Elementary School and continued her teaching of many subjects and life lessons in her role as mother, grandmother and Sunday School teacher. She was a member of First Baptist Columbia and the Open Arms Sunday School class. Her love of music and her Lord led to many opportunities to serve and witness. She shared her love, time, and talents through the years at North Trenholm Baptist, Kilbourne Park Baptist, Grace Church of Columbia, and First Baptist Columbia. She never hesitated to host a pool party, chaperone a youth event or mission trip, throw anyone and everyone a birthday party, teach puppetry, dress up in the clown ministry, lead a prayer vigil, teach a Sunday School class or even help clean up. Lyn was a talented artist in the fields of music and writing. She began playing clarinet in high school, which continued into her days in the church orchestra. She loved playing handbells and singing either in the choir or just sitting around the piano with her family. Her talent for writing ranged from her gift of sending the perfect card or letter for any occasion to her love of poetry, which even led to a business endeavor "Lines by Lyn." She never missed a chance to share her faith through personal example, love of God's word, or her gift for teaching how to apply biblical lessons to daily living. Lyn had a heart for the broken, needy and down trodden. She truly was one who wanted to meet the needs of others and help in any way she could. She was an excellent example of the Good Samaritan. She not only helped but went above and beyond. She was a devoted friend and prayer warrior and when you made her prayer list, you were there to stay. She is survived by her husband of Columbia; two children, Evelyn Mabry Haynes (Garris) of Columbia and Wayne Scott Mabry of Elgin; two grandchildren, Courtney Lyn Keefe (Joel) of Columbia and Bailey Alyse Haynes of Cayce.
