Evelyn Magdalene Nosbisch was born on January 26, 1920, the daughter of Christopher and Clara (Schilling) Maiers in North Washington, Iowa. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School in North Washington. After receiving her education Evelyn worked for various families in the North Washington area. Evelyn Magdalene Nosbisch was born on January 26, 1920, the daughter of Christopher and Clara (Schilling) Maiers in North Washington, Iowa. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School in North Washington. After receiving her education Evelyn worked for various families in the North Washington area. On January 30, 1940 she was united in marriage to Harold George Nosbisch at Immaculate Conception Church. The couple made their home in Chickasaw County farming. They later purchased and ran Ionia Grocery for several years, Evelyn also waitressed at The Hideaway and Ray's Tap until her retirement. After retiring, Evelyn enjoyed playing cards and Bingo, gardening and traveling. But it was spending time with her grandchildren that Evelyn especially loved. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. Evelyn is survived by her children; Gary (Betty) Nosbisch of Apache Junction, AZ, Jean (Larry) Usher of Ionia, IA, Dave (Marti) Nosbisch, Larry (Kristi) Nosbisch both of Waterloo, IA, Jerry (Vickie) Nosbisch of Ionia, IA and Tim Nosbisch of Clear Lake, IA; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Germaine Nosbisch and Millie Briggs both of New Hampton and numerous nieces and nephews.
