Big Timber Pioneer, December 8, 1960 Lamach Child Killed When Struck By Oil Tanker Here Monday Afternoon Evelyn Marlene Lamach, six-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Lamach, died of head injuries Monday at the Community hospital, a few minutes after she was struck by an oil tank truck trailer. Sheriff Kenneth Thompson and Highway Patrolman Dick Henthorn, who investigated, said the little girl apparently ran into the trailer as it was passing her at the intersection of Anderson street and the highway. She was struck by the hind wheels of the trailer at about 4:10 p.m. Two eye-witnesses Evelyn Miller and Mary Keller, both of Livingston, were questioned. The driver of the truck Chas. T. Bowman of Idaho Falls said he did not know that he had struck anyone and didn't know of the accident until after he was overtaken by the highway patrolman about nine miles east of Big Timber. A coroner's inquest was originally scheduled for 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon but was re-set for 7:30 p.m. The little girl a first-grade student at the big Timber Public school, was born March 26, 1954, at Columbus. Besides her parents she is survived by two brothers, Charles Sidney Lamach of Missoula and Richard of Boulder; three sisters, Mrs. William Reidelbach of McLeod and Roberta and Margaret at home; also her grandmother, Mrs. Mary Lamach.
