Description	:	Evelyn Ruth Allen Hall was born January 1, 1920 on a farm near Masonville, Iowa the daughter of Loney and Mary Hilby Allen. She attended country school and graduated from Lamont High School with the class of 1937. Evelyn was united in marriage to Kenneth Boyd Hall on November 27, 1941 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lamont, Iowa. To this union were born five children: Phil, Melvin, Kent, Cheryl, and Leon. Read More	Evelyn Ruth Allen Hall was born January 1, 1920 on a farm near Masonville, Iowa the daughter of Loney and Mary Hilby Allen. She attended country school and graduated from Lamont High School with the class of 1937. Evelyn was united in marriage to Kenneth Boyd Hall on November 27, 1941 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lamont, Iowa. To this union were born five children: Phil, Melvin, Kent, Cheryl, and Leon. They farmed south of Lamont for seven years until moving to the Hall farm where they lived until 1988. In 1988 they moved into the town of Lamont. Evelyn was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lamont and the Rosary Sodolity. She was a charter member of the U and I club and participated in several card clubs at Lamont. She liked to play cards, golf, was a good cook, enjoyed her flower gardens and caring for the chickens and cows when living on the farm. Evelyn entered into her eternal rest on Saturday March 25, 2006 at the Edgewood Convalescent Home following a short illness. She was 86 years of age. Preceding her in death were her parents, her sons Phil and Kent, two brothers Melvin and Beryl Allen, and one sister Mary Cannon. Survivors include her husband Kenneth of Lamont; two sons: Melvin (Linda) Hall of Lamont and Leon of Oelwein; one daughter Cheryl Prendergest of Elkader; one sister-in-law Reilly Hall of Arlington, VA; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two brothers: Lynn Allen of Florissant, Missouri and Robert Allen of Manchester; two sisters: Marsha Long of Solon and Joyce Slick of La Porte City; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday March 29, 2006 in St. Mary's Catholic Church at Strawberry Point with Father Paul R. Peters officiating. Interment will be in St. Albert's Cemetery at Lamont. Friends may call from 3 PM until 7 PM Tuesday at Fawcett Funeral Home in Lamont where a vigil service will be held at 6:30 PM Tuesday and after 10 AM Wednesday at the Church in Strawberry Point. ..Arrangements & Obituary: Fawcett Funeral Home in Lamont, Iowa.
