A daughter of the late Wilbur R. and Florence McCoy Gorby, Evelyn was born August 7, 1929, in Middleton Twp., and was a life resident of the area. A daughter of the late Wilbur R. and Florence McCoy Gorby, Evelyn was born August 7, 1929, in Middleton Twp., and was a life resident of the area. She had been employed as a press operator at American Paper Products, Boardman, until retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Clarkson Presbyterian Church. Her husband, John William "Bill" Todd, whom she married September 17, 1950, survives her in the home. Evelyn also leaves four sons, John W. Todd, and his wife, Jackie, Greenville, SC, Merle A. Todd, and his wife, Beth, Lisbon, Earl R. Todd, and his companion, Stephanie "Stevie" Ferlaino, Lisbon, and Jeff A. Todd, Medina; and two daughters, Dixie L. Powell, and her husband, Robert, Wellsville, and Vickey L. Conrad, and her husband Rick, Lisbon. She also leaves two sisters, Nancy (Jim) Whitacre, New Waterford, and Joyce (David, Sr.) Pethtel, Negley; and two brothers, Dale (Helen) Gorby, Ocala, FL and Sam (Pam) Gorby, Negley; eight grandchildren, Scott (Heather) Powell, Nicole (Tom) Maylone, Lucas Todd, Lauryn Todd, Andrea Todd, Brittney Conrad, Kayla Todd, and Suzie (Brian) Plate; and seven great-grandchildren, Zac Mellott, Abbey Powell, Cody and Mindy Plate, Tommy Maylone, and Addison Anthony. She was preceded in death by her birth mother, Gladys Viola Ketchum Gorby, and four brothers, Larry, Charles, Kenneth, and William Alvin Gorby. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine, with her pastor, the Rev. Jan Douglas. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday. www.oliver-linsley.com
