Description	:	Lisbon John William "Bill" Todd, 86, passed away peacefully Friday morning, March 6, 2015 at 9:50 a.m. at his daughter's home surrounded by his family. A son of the late Clarence and Anna Henderson Todd, Bill was born March 3, 1929 in Salem. Bill will be remembered by serving as the honorary "Mayor/Hand Waver" in Clarkson where he lived most of his life. We know he put smiles and made a lot of people's day with his infectious smile and wave... He was an active member of the Clarkson Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and Sunday school... Read More	Lisbon John William "Bill" Todd, 86, passed away peacefully Friday morning, March 6, 2015 at 9:50 a.m. at his daughter's home surrounded by his family. A son of the late Clarence and Anna Henderson Todd, Bill was born March 3, 1929 in Salem. Bill will be remembered by serving as the honorary "Mayor/Hand Waver" in Clarkson where he lived most of his life. We know he put smiles and made a lot of people's day with his infectious smile and wave... He was an active member of the Clarkson Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and Sunday school teacher. Bill was an active member of the American Legion Post 290, Columbiana where he served as Sergeant of Arms, Chaplain, and was a past Post Commander. He was a U.S. Air Force having served during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Crucible Steel Industries, Midland in 1982, and then taught Diesel Mechanics at the Columbiana County Career Center. His wife, the former Evelyn Gorby, whom he married September 17, 1950, preceded him in death on March 5, 2011. Four brothers, Warren, George, Robert, and James Todd, as well as a sister, Helen Knopp had preceded him in death. Bill is survived by four sons, John W. Todd, and his wife, Jackie of South Carolina, Merle A. Todd, and wife, Beth, and Earl R. Todd, all of Lisbon, and Jeffrey A. Todd, Medina.; two daughters, Dixie L. Powell and her husband, Robert, Wellsville, and Vickie L. Conrad, and her husband, Rick, Lisbon. He also leaves eight grandchildren, Scott (Heather) Powell, Nicole Maylone, Lucas (Meredith) Todd, Andrea (Ben) Anthony, Brittney Conrad, Lauryn Todd, Kayla Todd, and Suzie (Brian) Plate; and six great grandchildren, Zack Mellott, Abbey Powell, Cody and Mindy Plate, Addison Anthony, and Jonathan Maylone. He is also survived by one brother, Roy (Pat) Todd, four sisters, Mary Lou Steeb, Martha (Harry) Bowker, Florence (John) Mrugala, and Shirley (Ben ) Jakabowski. He also is survived by several nieces and nephews. Military rites will be conducted by the Columbiana American Legion Post 290. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford.
