Description	:	Everett (Tad) Marble was born Jan. 10, 1935 in Sheridan Lake, Colorado to Everett E. and Edna Marble. He was the oldest of four children. Tad spent the first part of his life on his parents ranch riding horses and raising cows. He was very good in sports playing varsity basketball and baseball. Tad was a member of 4-H for over 10years, raising and showing pigs, cattle, and horses. One year he even took cooking. He enjoyed hunting with his sister Joyce and friends. He was also a very good roper winning many ropings. After graduating high school... Read More	Everett (Tad) Marble was born Jan. 10, 1935 in Sheridan Lake, Colorado to Everett E. and Edna Marble. He was the oldest of four children. Tad spent the first part of his life on his parents ranch riding horses and raising cows. He was very good in sports playing varsity basketball and baseball. Tad was a member of 4-H for over 10years, raising and showing pigs, cattle, and horses. One year he even took cooking. He enjoyed hunting with his sister Joyce and friends. He was also a very good roper winning many ropings. After graduating high school from Sheridan Lake, CO Tad joined the U. S. Navy. Some of his proudest moments came while serving his country. After being discharged he came back to Colorado and married Virginia Price. To this union five children were born: Susie, Violet, David, Kelli and Tommy. After living in Kansas for a short time, where their child was born they returned to Colorado and lived and worked on the Ponderosa ranch for the Cornelson family. After a couple of years and their second child was born they moved to Fairview, Oklahoma. While in Oklahoma, Tad worked for the Cornelsons and then went into the oil field business. He worked on the oil rigs doing everything from a derrick hand to a driller and to a tool pusher. They stayed in Oklahoma for the next 13 years. During that time their remaining 3 children were born. In 1975, Tad and his family moved back to Colorado living first out by his parents on Sand Creek. They eventually moved over to Chivington. After retiring from the oil business, Tad went to work for Bob Weber driving tractor and farming. In 1991, Tad met Evelyn Crowe on Sep 12, 1991 they were married. They lived in Chivington and Tad continued to work for Bob. Tad and Evelyn enjoyed having their garden and participating in the Kiowa County Fair, one year winning grand champion. They also loved their animals. They had several little dogs over the years, the last one being their beloved Heidi. Unfortunately, earlier this year on March 24th. Evelyn succumbed to their battle with COPD. Tad and Heidi stayed in Chivington. Tad loved going to the ball games at Plainview and Eads. He also enjoyed staying informed with everyone and HIS DAILY TELEPHONE CALLS WERE A RITUAL. He continued to work for Bob until a month ago when he became ill and was hospitalized, first in Eads and then at St. Mary Corwin in Pueblo where he passed away suddenly on October 11, 2008. He is survived by one sister, Joyce Mayo and her family. His five children, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren . He is also survived by 5 step children, 18 step grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and one aunt, Mary Marble as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Graveside funeral services were held on Tuesday, Oct 14, 2008 at the Eads Cemetery with Mr. Robert Crowe officiating. Casketbearers were jerry Tidwell, Ralph Berry, Carl Blodgett, Joe Marble, Bob Weber, Merle Shalberg and Mark Sanders. Memorial contributions can be made to the Weisbrod Auxiliary.
