Everett was born on February 14, 1920 in Humboldt, Kansas, the son of Edward and Anna (Krone) Seefeldt. Seefeldt, 92, Chanute, Kansas, passed away December 5, 2012 at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center, Chanute, Kansas, with his family around him. Everett was born on February 14, 1920 in Humboldt, Kansas, the son of Edward and Anna (Krone) Seefeldt. As a young boy growing up in Humboldt, he was a member of and attended St. Peters Lutheran Church. He served in the U. S. Army from August 1942 until January 1946. On October 5, 1941 Everett married Elna Igel. She died in 1988. He married Mary Neely in 1990. Shortly after returning from military service, Everett moved his young family to Chanute. There he began his career with the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad. He retired in 1981 after 38 years. Everett was a loving, generous, easy-going individual who always had a smile and a kind word for those around him. He was loved and admired by all who knew him. He loved to spend time with his nieces and nephews and became a great story teller. A favorite was how he drove the train engine to Chanute that now sits in Santa Fe Park. In later years he enjoyed feeding the ducks at the park and spending time people-watching at McDonalds. Working Jumble puzzles kept his mind sharp and active. Throughout his life the church remained his constant and his faith in God was strong. Everett is survived by his son, Alvin of Livermore, CA; and an extensive family of relatives and friends who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elna (Igel) Seefeldt; his second wife, Mary (Neely) Seefeldt; one son, Larry L. Seefeldt; and three brothers, Harold Seefeldt, Marvin Seefeldt, and Earl Seefeldt. Funeral services will be at Zion Lutheran Church in Chanute, KS. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Humboldt, Kansas. Memorials in Everett's name may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church and may be left with the funeral home. Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel is in charge of arrangements. *********************************
