Description	:	Everett Courcier Everett L. Courcier, 85, of Stanton, passed away Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Red Oak. Everett Lee Courcier was born to George and Lela (Westover) Courcier Aug. 18, 1926, in Grant. He was raised in Grant and graduated with the Grant High School class of 1943. Everett entered the United States Army and served during World War II in Germany. He was very proud of his military service. Courcier, 85, of Stanton, passed away Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Red Oak. Everett Lee Courcier was born to George and Lela (Westover) Courcier Aug. 18, 1926, in Grant. He was raised in Grant and graduated with the Grant High School class of 1943. Everett entered the United States Army and served during World War II in Germany. He was very proud of his military service. After the war, he returned home where he drove a truck for many years, was a businessman and also farmed. Everett married Ruby Rupp Norcross Sept. 1, 1951, in Hiawatha, Kan. They lived all of their married life in Montgomery County, most recently in Stanton. Ruby preceded Everett in death May 12, 2009. Everett will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by his family who describe him as a man from the greatest generation who was proud of being a veteran, the Yankees and his family. He was an outstanding father and a good friend to everyone. He was a wonderful ball player, golfer, card player and pool player. Everett was also in tune with the times. He was always interested in new technology. Everett, being proud of his military service, was a lifetime member of the Villisca American Legion. Survivors include his children, Gerald "Jerry" (Lin) Norcross, of Carmi, Ill., Joyce Alexander, of Omaha, and James (Connie) Courcier, of Osceola; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Georgia Frank, of Grant; nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial services will take place at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 10, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak. Burial of the cremated remains will take place at a later date in the Grant Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Red Oak Express 3-6-2012
