Description	:	The funeral for long-time Natoma banker, Evert Arnold Ruggels, 85, was Friday, November 14, at the Natoma United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Natoma Cemetery. Mr. Ruggels died November 11, 1975, at Natoma. He was born February 16, 1890, at Alta Vista. He was the son of LeRoy S. and Annie M. (Cassell) Ruggels. He was reared on a farm near Beverly. Read More	The funeral for long-time Natoma banker, Evert Arnold Ruggels, 85, was Friday, November 14, at the Natoma United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Natoma Cemetery. Mr. Ruggels died November 11, 1975, at Natoma. He was born February 16, 1890, at Alta Vista. He was the son of LeRoy S. and Annie M. (Cassell) Ruggels. He was reared on a farm near Beverly. He began his career at the Codell State Bank and later worked in Beverly and Alton banks. He moved in 1917 to Natoma and was employed by the First National Bank there. World War I interrupted his career, but he returned and was named managing officer in 1920, a position he held until 1968. He remained on the bank's board of directors until his death. On June 18, 1923, he married Emma Lucile Smith at the home of the bride's parents near Denova, Henry County, Iowa. His wife died on September 27, 1966. Mr. Ruggels was a charter member of the Natoma Lions Club and a member of the American Legion and Order of the Eastern Star. He served Natoma Schools 16 years as a board member. Surviving are two sons, Paul E. and Frank, both of Natoma; three sisters, Elizabeth Hays, Clyde, Grace Hobson, North Hollywood, California, and Mabel Haggard, San Bernadino, California, a brother, Albert, Beverly, and six grandchildren.
