Nolan Had Been Resident of McCune and Vicinity Many Years. -------------------------------------------------- Faithie P. Nolan, mother of Jake Nolan, carrier on rural route five out of McCune, passed away Sunday morning, May 11, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Katie Hale of near Hallowell, at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 16 days. The funeral services were held from the M. E. Church in McCune Monday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. Ira W. Torrence, and burial took place in the McCune cemetery. Faithie P. Hill was born June 5, 1842, and on March 1, 1871 she was united in marriage to James A. Nolan at Pana, Ill. Mr. Nolan passed away July 7, 1911. To this union was born, five children; Chloe E. who died April 11, 1879, and Charley F. who died July 10, 1882. The remaining children are: Jacob W. of McCune; Mrs. Emma V. Garrison of St. Paul and Mrs. Katie Hale of Hallowell, at whose home she passed away. There are also twelve grandchildren, three sisters and one brother. The sisters are: Mrs. Chloe Wilson, Oklahoma City; Mrs. Jane Nutt, Wichita; Mrs. D. P. Terflinger, McCune. The brother is J. F. Hill of California. Mrs. Nolan was a resident of Kansas since 1882. She lived with her family in the Sherman neighborhood twenty-one years, and since was a resident of McCune and vicinity. She became a member of the Methodist Church in Illinois, and kept up her Christian faith and life till the last. Contributed by Will Burris
