Description	:	Funeral services for Mrs. Steve Vos of Bellflower, Calif., who was fatally injured in an auto crash Monday evening of last week, were held last Friday afternoon at the Christian Reformed church in Hawarden with Rev. J. Cupido officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery under the direction of the Barnard Funeral service. In the car with her were Mr. Vos and their 20-month-old baby, both of whom escaped serious injuries. Mr. Vos was able to attend the funeral. The baby was taken to the Peter Vos home near Hudson when he was released from the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Vos and their two children and her sister and husband Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kamstra and two children of Bellflower, came to Hawarden to see the woman's father, A. Zwiers, who suffered a broken pelvis some time ago when run over by a tractor. Enroute to Hawarden the Vos family had an accident near North Platte, Neb., when the car went into a ditch. No one was seriously injured, but the car was wrecked. The Vos family came the rest of the way in the Kamstra car. On Monday of last week both families had gone to the home of another sister of the women, Mrs. Gerrit De Jager, to help with threshing. As they started for the Zwiers home Janice Arlene Vos, 7, went in the Kamstra car and thus was not in the accident. The Vos car and the Walter Witt car crashed at an intersection. Mrs. Vos, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Zwiers, was born on a farm near Hawarden in February of 1919. She grew up in this vicinity. She later went to California where she was employed. Mr. Vos, who also grew up here, went to California and they were married August 8, 1939, at Artesia, Calif. She is survived by the widower; the two children, Janice Arlene and Harvey Leonard; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Zwiers, and three sisters, Mrs. Ed Zwart and Mrs. Gerrit De Jager, both of Hawarden, and Mrs. Wm. Kamstra of Bellflower, Calif. The Independent (Hawarden, Iowa) 8/24/1950
