The services were conducted by Dr. H. Clifford Fox, pastor of the church, and burial was in the City cemetery. Nephews Pallbearers Pallbearers all were nephews of Mrs. Minger and included W. L. Patrick and Carl Minger of Dubuque; George Brown and Vyrle Minger of Turkey River; Firman Smith of Millville and Reuben White of Osterdock. As Fannie Adelia Patrick, Mrs. Minger was born September 24, 1864, at Wabasha, Minnesota, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Patrick. When she was two years of age she moved with her parents to Turkey River. Here in 1914 On November 29, 1892, she was married to Frank Minger at Colesburg and the couple lived on a farm near Turkey River until 1914 when the family moved to Guttenberg. Mrs. Minger is survived by Mr. Minger, three sons, Harold of Milwaukee, Larell of Postville and Byron of Guttenberg, and two daughters, Mrs. Herman Christofferson of Postville and Eneatha at home. Three grandchildren also survive. They are Charlotte Minger and Jean and Don Christofferson. A son died in infancy and she also was preceded in death by four brothers. A member of the Guttenberg Methodist church, she was also a member of the church aid society and of the Royal Neighbors lodge at Millville. +++ 1984 History of Clayton County, Iowa, pg. 516 Frank and Fannie Patrick Minger Frank August Minger was born in 1867 at Turkey River, Ia. He was the eighth child of the fourteen born to Johann and Elizabeth Hassig Minger. He attended country school in the Turkey River area and spent his childhood on the farm. He married Fannie Patrick in 1892. Fannie was born in 1864 at Wabasha, Minn., and grew up in the Turkey River area. She attended country school and went on to become a seamstress. They were the parents of six children, Bryon's twin dying at birth. Eneatha was born in 1893 and attended country schools. She worked in Milwaukee, Des Moines, and Guttenberg, and died in 1958. She never married. Harold was born in 1895, m. Loretta Ronge of Milwaukee, Wis. He worked for American Motors in Milwuukee for many years and retired in Guttenberg. Harold and Loretta both died in 1976. Larell b. in 1900, never married. He worked at many different jobs in and around Guttenberg. He died in 1964. Byron b. in 1903, m. Roma Bittner in 1928 (see Byron and Roma History). Rita b. in 1907, m. Herman A. Christofferson of Postville, Ia. They farmed in the Postville area and retired in Postville where Herman worked as a carpenter and Rita in her profession as a nurse. Frank and Fannie farmed in the Turkey River area until 1911, when they moved to Turkey River to operate the hotel. They moved to Guttenberg in 1914 and Larell, Byron, and Rita finished high school. Frank worked at the canning factory during the canning season and Fannie boarded high school children, mostly relatives from the Turkey River area. They have three grandchildren, Charlote Minger Baril, daughter of Byron and Roma Minger, and Don Christofferson and Jean Christofferson Bacon, children of Herman and Rita Christofferson. Frank died in 1958 and his wife Fannie in 1945. They are buried in the city cemetery along with Eneatha, Larell, Harold and wife and Byron.
