James K. Irwin officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. She was born Feb. 8, 1885, at Hillsboro, Ill. She came to the Panhandle in 1886 and homesteaded south of Gering. She taught school in Sheridan, Wyo., for 25 years. She retired in 1949 and moved to Gering. She was a member of WCTU and the First United Methodist Church and a leader of LTL. She was honorary vice president of Oregon Trail Days in 1972 Survivors include her sister, Mrs. Alta Cooper of Gering.
