Description	:	Ferman was the son of Ferman Prescott Sr. and Nellie (Walsh) Housel. He married Florence E. Phillips in 1918 and they had one daughter, Gladys Laura. He was born Aug. 15, 1896 in Liberty, Mo., the son of Mr. And Mrs. Ferman P. Housel, Sr. He moved with his parents to Lewistown in 1903. Housel, Sr. He moved with his parents to Lewistown in 1903. He received his education in Lewistown and then entered the service for one year from 1918 to 1919. After returning from the service he worked for Wilbur Transfer for 10 years and then went to work for Lewistown Transfer from 1930 until the mid 1940’s except for 1939 when he was the Consolidated Freight agent here. He started Housel Transfer which he operated until 1958 when he was elected Furgus County Commissioner, a post he held until 1970 when he retired. He was united in marriage to Florence Phillips in Lewistown on July 26, 1918. Housel was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, the Elks Lodge, American Legion Post No 16, World War I Veterans, Marie Chapter No. 39 Order of the Eastern Star. Hiran Council No. 9, Hiran Chapter No. 15, Calvary Temple Commandry No. 14, Masonic Lodge No 139 and the Central Montana Shrine Club and Al Bedoo Temple of Billings. He is survived by his wife Florence of Lewistown; one daughter, Mrs. Peter (Gladys) Teigen of Teigen; three brothers, Oliver of Olympia, Wash, Lloyd of Long Beach, Calif., and Herschel of Bremerton, Wash.; four sisters, Mrs. David (Gertrude) Newbury of Tracy, Calif., Mrs. George (Marjorie) Rich of Mitchell, Ore., Mrs. Helen Lewis and Mrs. Elmer (Bernice) Thompson, both of Lewistown; and several nieces and nephews.
