She was the oldest child in the family and had lived in Pierce County all her life. She had attended the rural schools and attended the country high school as much as her health would permit. YOUNG LADY CALLED TO HER REWARD Fern Dorothy Schreiner was born May 4, 1911, on a farm nine miles southwest of Pierce-her parents being Gustav and Emaline Schreiner. She was the oldest child in the family and had lived in Pierce County all her life. She had attended the rural schools and attended the country high school as much as her health would permit. She leaves to mourn her departure her parents, three sisters, Grace, Helen and Marion, and two brothers, George and Robert. Funeral services were held last Saturday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Pierce, conducted by the Pastor, Rev. R. F. Farley. These services were attended by a large company of neighbors and friends which filled the main room of the building. Three hyms were sung by a quartet consisting of Mesdames M. H. Leamy and R. E. Dutcher and Messrs. Byron Vanderpool and C. B. Brande, with Miss Doris Douglas as accompanist. The flower girls and poll (pall) bearers were all cousins of the deceased, viz: Misses Jessie McKinzie, Evelyn McKinzie and Blanche Williams, flower girls, and Misses Dora Schreiner, Cora Schreiner, Cleta Schreiner, Fay Schreiner, Gladys Lingenfelter and Blanche Lingenfelter as Pall Bearers. Burial took place at Prospect View Cemetery. At the time of her death Fern was aged 15 years, 7 months and 4 days. We had a little treasure once, She was our joy and pride. We loved her, ah perhaps too well, For soon she slept and died. All is dark within our dwelling, Lonely are our hearts today. For the one we loved so dearly Has forever passed away. The Call is indebted to Rev. R. F. Farley and Mrs Ed Ray for the data in writing the above obituary.
