Mr. Erdman had been employed at Burlington and made his home there the past two or three years. Friday, Feb 23, 1945, p 2 The body of the late Fern E. Erdman, who died suddenly at Burlington on Wednesday, arrived in Keokuk Thursday afternoon, and was taken to the Schmidt Memorial home where funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock on Sunday afternoon. Burial will be made in the Oakland cemetery. A former resident of Keokuk, he had made his home for the past two years in Burlington where he was employed in the office of the Iowa Ordnance plant. He became ill suddenly Wednesday evening, and was taken to a Burlington hospital where he was pronounced dead. Before going to Burlington, he was employed for a number of years at the Keokuk Savings bank. A son of George and Elizabeth Laubert Erdman, he was born at New Sharon, Iowa, but resided in Keokuk practically all of his life until going to Burlington. He was a member of the Burlington Elks club and of Eagle Lodge No. 12, A.F. & A.M. of Keokuk. Survivors include one brother, Claude G. Erdman of Keokuk; two nieces, Wilma Erdman of Long Beach, Calif. and Dorothy Hesbacher of Omaha, Nebr., and one nephew, Allen Erdman of Columbia, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters, Augusta Erdman, Mrs. Katharine Hesbacher and Lillie Erdman.
