Description	:	Fern Laurine Seger, age 74, of O'Neill passed away Monday Aug 28, 2006, at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill. Visitation was held from 3-8 pm on Thursday, Aug 31, 2006, at Seger Funeral home in Atkinson with a 7 pm wake service. Funeral services were held at 2:30 pm on Friday, Sept 1, 2006, at the Word of Life Assembly of God Church in O'Neill. Rev. James Loutzenhiser Jr. officiated the services. Interment was in the Prospect Hill Cemetery in O'Neill. Seger Funeral Home of Atkinson was in charge of arrangements. Fern was born Feb. 15, 1932, in O'Neill, to Willard Barton and Leta Maude (Keller) Walton. She grew up in Holt and Antelope counties. She was united in marriage to Ralph Seger on March 27, 1957, in Elk Point, SD. They made their home in O'Neill. She worked at Helen's cafe and then at Seger's Cafe until they closed. She was an excellent housekeeper and she cleaned a few homes after the cafe closed. She was an active member of the O'Neill VFW Auxiliary. She loved to embroidery and enjoyed quiet rides in the country with her family. Fern is survived by her husband Ralph K.; sons Randy Jackson and wife Patsy of O'Neill, Ralph E. Seger and wife Jeanette of O'Neill, and Kevin Seger and wife Sue of O'Neill; daughters, Sharon Hall and Arnold of Orchard, and Patricia and George Summers of Page; stepson Kenneth Seger of Hawaii; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda and husband Dick Appleby of O'Neill, Nancy and husband Neil of Nemec of O'Neill, and Connie and husband Leonard Peterson of O'Neill; brothers, Wilard and wife Francie Walton of Norfolk, and Larry and wife Bonnie Walton of O'Neill; sisters-in-law, Linda Walton of O'Neill, and Jan Walton of Clearwater; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donald, Richard, Lester and Ronald; sisters Neva and Rose and stepdaughter, Arlene Seger.
