She was born June 1, 1898, at Phillipsburg, the daughter of Lafayette David and Margaret Ann DeLay Bourm. In 1900 she moved with her parents to a farm in Jackson County near Adrian. She was born June 1, 1898, at Phillipsburg, the daughter of Lafayette David and Margaret Ann DeLay Bourm. In 1900 she moved with her parents to a farm in Jackson County near Adrian. She attended Adrian Grade School and graduated from Holton High School in 1918. She had lived in Oskaloosa since 1923. She worked with her husband at Brown's service in Oskaloosa for 12 years. She was a member of the Oskaloosa United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Fidelis Sunday School Class at the church. She was also a member and past noble grand of Rebekah Lodge No. 747, Grayson Happy Hour Club, member and past president of the auxiliary of Larner-Segraves Post No. 36 of the American Legion, all of Oskaloosa. She was a gray lady at the former Fairview Nursing Home at Oskaloosa for several years. She married Harry W. Brown on June 15, 1927, in Lawrence. He survives. Other survivors include three sons, Lee Robert Westhafer, Aransas Pass, Tex., David Brown, Paola, and Robert E. Brown, Perry; a daughter, Margaret Haynes, Oskaloosa; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
