Fernie Irene Lemon, daughter of George and Lizzie Lemon, was born Nov 12, 1904, on a farm near Flugstad, Iowa. She received her elementary schooling in schools near Flugstad, later attending high school at Webster City. She was united in marriage June 20, 1926 to Victor Clausen. They started housekeeping on a farm near Brushy, Iowa, and farmed in that community until 1945 when they moved into Duncombe, their home since. She was preceded in death by one son who died when he was one month old; by her father and one sister. She is survived by her husband, one son and one daughter, Arnold Clausen of Lake Park, Iowa and Miss Barbara Clausen at home: one grandson, Robert Clausen; her mother, Mrs. George (Lizzie) Lemon of Duncombe; two sisters and five brothers; Mrs. Delores Jones of Webster City; Mrs. Wayne (Marcine) Housken of Castro Valley, Calif.; Roy Lemon of Lehigh, Ray Lemon of Homer, Elmer Lemon of Webster City, Buryl Lemon of State Center, and Georgie Lemon of Blairsburg. Mrs. Clausen was baptized in the Methodist faith and was a member of the Methodist church of Duncombe. Mrs,. Clausen was a kind and loving wife and mother whose main interests in life were her home and family.
