N Poston of the Presbyterian church of Tipton officiating. Burial was made at the Cedar Bluff cemetery. Finetta B. Schley was born March 8, 1869, the third daughter in a family of ten children. The parental home was in Johnson County in the vicinity of Solon, where she grew to young womanhood, early in life professing her faith in Christ by joing the Evangelical church of Cedar Rapids. On Jan. 30, 1889, she was united in marriage with G.F. Miller. They resided for six years near Oasis, then moved to the farm 7 miles west of Tipton which has since been home. Here a family of eight children were reared, who are Mrs. Hazel Tevis, Atalissa; Fred C, Mechanicsville; Mrs. Lillian Frederick, Tipton; Mrs. Glady Anderson, Rochester; Mrs. Grace Schumacher, Mrs. Blanche Boisselier, both of Chicago; Virgil and Everett at home. An infant son died a number of years ago. Mrs. Miller's life was one of extreme devotion and self sacrifice for her family and home and of kind deeds for her friends and neighbors, among whom she was most dearly loved, and who are saddened today by her passing. Only a few days illness from flu claimed her as its victim, on march 13, at the age of 65 years and 5 days. She was the first of her brothers and sisters to answer the grim reaper's summons and surviving her are: Henry Schley, Sidney, Neb.; Mrs. Dora Kessler, Iowa City; Mrs. Eliza Livingston, Canada; Mrs. Mary Kasper, Iowa City; Sam Schley, Washington; Fred Schley, Woonsocket, SD; Mrs Nevada Orris, North Liberty; Frank Schley, Huron, SD; and Mrs. Iva Maxey, Iroquois, SD. There are several grandchildren who will miss a dear grandmother's loving ministrations.
