Description	:	Fletcher Chesley Tufts A highly respected citizen of Lake Pleasant, Fletcher C. Tufts, 85, died suddenly at his home on November 2nd, the victim of a heart attack, within an hour. Born at Simpson's Corner, the son of the late George and Sarah Tufts, Mr. Tufts came to Lake Pleasant in early manhood, and later married Miss Louisa Acker, taking up residence in that place. Read More	Fletcher Chesley Tufts A highly respected citizen of Lake Pleasant, Fletcher C. Tufts, 85, died suddenly at his home on November 2nd, the victim of a heart attack, within an hour. Born at Simpson's Corner, the son of the late George and Sarah Tufts, Mr. Tufts came to Lake Pleasant in early manhood, and later married Miss Louisa Acker, taking up residence in that place. They had five children; one of these, Gorman fell in France durirng World War I and one, Christie, wife of Burpee Mailman, died some 38 years ago. Surviving Mr. Tufts are one son, Primrose, of Lake Pleasant, two daughters, Meda, wife of Harry Wile, of Shelburne and Springfield; and Hilda, wife of Asaph Varner, of Lake Pleasant. To these and to Mrs. Tufts, whose 85th birthday fell on the day of her husband's sudden death, deepest sympathy is extended. Surviving also are 18 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. Sixteen of the former and quite a number of the latter were present at the funeral, which was held on the afternoon of Friday, November 5th, 1954. Mr. Tufts is also survived by one brother, Dimock Tufts, at Simpson's Corner and by three half-brothers, Clyde and Cecil Tufts, Simpson's Corner and Horton Tufts, in the United States; also by one half-sister, Edna (Mrs. Maltby Lutz) of Berwick. Predeceasing him was a brother, Stephen, of the United States; a half-brother, Heber, of Simpson's Corner; and three half-sisters, Cynthia, Ethel, and Pearl, all of the United States.
