Read More	Mrs. Flora Dubay Is Taken By Death Funeral Held Monday A cerebral hemorrhage suffered about 1 o'clock Saturday morning was almost instantly fatal to Mrs. Flora Dubay, 74 year old Creighton resident who made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Kimble. As a result of the suddenness of her passing, news of her death came as a shock to her many friends and acquaintances. Though ill for three or four days previous to the stroke her condition was not considered serious. Only the Sunday before, she taught her Sunday school class and attended church. Flora Asenath Skinner was born January 5, 1864 at Sonestown. Pa. and at death was 74 years, eight months and 19 days of age. When she was eight, her parents moved to Sac county, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. NOTE It was while on a visit to the place of her birth in Pennsylvania that she met Morris A. Warburton to whom she was married August 18, 1886. After their marriage they went west to Sac county, Iowa, where two years later Mr. Warburton died, leaving the young widow with a one month old son. At the age of two the boy passed away. On May 31, 1903 she was united in marriage to Wm. H. Dubay and to them one daughter, Lela, was born. The family moved to Minnesota, where they resided 10 years. They moved to Creighton from there. Mr. Dubay passed away February 15, 1924. A lifelong member of the Methodist church, Mrs. Dubay held in it many positions of responsibility and was active in the work of the church until the very end of her earthly journey. The fact that she was at her usual place in church and teaching her Sunday school class the last Sunday of her life, exemplified her faithfulness. Her devotion was an inspiration to those privileged to come under her influence. She was a member of the Royal Neighbor and Rebekah lodges, both of which orders attended the funeral in a body. Surviving are her only daughter, Mrs. C.C. Kimble and three grandchildren. Herself the youngest of six children, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and a sister. Many friends gathered at the Methodist church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock to pay her memory a final tribute. The funeral services were conducted by the church pastor, Rev. D.S. Bornemeier. Interment was made in Greenwood cemetery beside the remains of Mr. Dubay. Extracted from: The Creighton News 29 Sept 1938 NOTE: Her father was Stephen Skinner.
