Dubay Dies Suddenly A gloom of sorrow was cast over the community on Friday morning, when the word was given out that W.H. Dubay had dropped dead at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. E.V. Burdick. He had been ill for sometime and was considering moving to town. His death was attributed to apoplexy. William Henry Dubay was born in Lansing, Iowa, October 22, 1858 and died at Creighton, Nebraska, February 15, 1924 at the age of 65 years, 3 months and 24 days. Mr. Dubay has been unwell for sometime, but at the time he was taken, his end was not expected and death came as a shock to all. Mr. Dubay moved from Lansing, Iowa to Sac City, Iowa as a young man. He was married here in 1893 to Flora Warburton and moved with his family to Minnesota in 1900. From there they moved to Creighton in 1910, where they have since resided. He is survived by his wife and their only child, Mrs. Lela Kimble, also one sister, Mrs. Emma Hignett of Sac City, Iowa and one brother, James Dubay of St. Paul, Minn., several nieces and nephews, two grandchildren and hosts of friends, who are deeply grieved at his death. He has been preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother. Mr. Dubay united with the Methodist church in 1892 in Sac City, Iowa. He has been a long and consistent member of the church, always thoughtful of its needs and helpful in the maintenance of welfare. He has been a member of the Odd Fellow and Rebecca Lodges for many years and has ever been helpful in the promotion of their welfare. The fraternities to which he belonged are losing a valuable member. The church will feel his loss as a helper in her work. The community feels the loss of an energetic, honest, progressive and upright citizen, whom all have respected and loved. May the examples of his life be patterned by others that we may profit thereby. It can be said of him as of the Apostle, "He has fought a good fight, he has kept the faith." Now, he has received his crown of righteousness. The funeral was held at the Methodist church on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 in charge of Rev. Farner, the pastor, and a large concourse of friends were in attendance to pay their last respects to the deceased.
