Description	:	Hopkins Journal (Hopkins, Missouri), Thursday, January 8, 1903 Mrs “Ike” Smith Dead Flora E [llen] Wooten [Woolen] was born in Indiana Nov. 23, 1854 and moved with her parents to Iowa when about 10 years of age. She married Isaac Smith Nov 12, 1871 and died at her home near Siam, Iowa Dec 28, 1902, aged 48 yrs, 1 month and 5 days. She leaves a husband and eleven children to mourn her loss, one son having preceded her to the heavenly home more than two years ago. She married Isaac Smith Nov 12, 1871 and died at her home near Siam, Iowa Dec 28, 1902, aged 48 yrs, 1 month and 5 days. She leaves a husband and eleven children to mourn her loss, one son having preceded her to the heavenly home more than two years ago. Her family were all present when the summons came except one son who is in Sheridan, Wyoming, who could not be here, but was remembered by mother to the last. She united with the Christian church in 186[?] and lived a consecrated Christian life until she was called from labor to reward. She was devoted to her home and family. She was patient in sickness and suffering, never murmuring although the heavy hand of affliction was laid on her for many months. Her life and example will be a benediction to all who knew her and her triumphant entrance into her peaceful rest will be an incentive to stronger faith in God and better service to Him. The funeral was held at the home, conducted by Elder E E Stickleman, after which the body was borne to the Siam cemetery for interment followed by a large procession of sympathizing friends. “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea sayeth the spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them.” Mr C.
